“One afternoon at about three o’clock he had a vision in which he clearly saw an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius.” He stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, Lord?” He answered, “Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.” Acts 10:3-4

This is one of the most significant stories in the Bible. It’s a story that changed who was included in the Christian faith. It’s also a story of two men who believed in God being brought together by God and changed forever. There’s something about that that is compelling to me. We are praying and believing and there are others we don’t know who are also praying and believing. The same God hears us all and perhaps will bring us together and make us an answer to the other’s prayers and vice versa. This Christian life is open to how God might use someone else to teach us a new truth about God. It takes faith and humility to experience something new from God. God is on the move and always changing our status quo. Can we remain open to change?
